M.G. Ryan & Co. have been nominated in two categories in the 2014 Irish Law Awards. They are a finalist in the “Law Firm Innovation” and “Provincial Law Firm of the Year” awards. Being the only Connacht firm in the Innovation category they join Geraghty & Co and Purdy Fitzgerald in the Provincial category. O’Donnell Watters have been nominated in the “Pro Bono/Public Interest Team of The Year Category”
“We are delighted to be selected as finalists in these categories” said Michael Ryan, Managing Partner. “Over the past 6 years, the whole legal landscape has changed and it was very important that we reacted quickly and adapted to this new environment. Some of the other finalists in our categories are considered to be amongst the ‘Top 5’ Irish Legal practices. We see this as evidence of the level we are now operating at across all of our practice areas”.
Through marketing, improvements in productivity and up-skilling of the team, M.G. Ryan & Co. Solicitors have been able to drive growth in recent years. Establishment of an effective social media presence, the launch of a new website along with an investment in the latest legal technologies have assisted the company in servicing its existing business while extending its client base across a number of new practice areas (such as mediation) and new sectors (such as the life science industry).
“We are delighted with the results being achieved and this is testament to the 12 dedicated staff we have at M.G. Ryan and Co. Over that past six months we have recruited three additional members to our team.”
Michael Ryan also attributes recent success to an upturn in the economy as well as the availability of government support and private equity for promising SME’s. “For our expanding corporate client base, we specialise in providing bespoke and practical legal support through all stages of their business life-cycle. We appreciate the challenging environments that our clients operate in and over the past few years, we made a conscious decision to support our clients through challenging times. In 2014 there has been evidence of this loyalty being returned by clients as their businesses grow through investment from Enterprise Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta as well as private investors.
M.G. Ryan & Co. are also celebrating 30 years in business in Galway in 2014. They were one of the first practices in Galway to have an IT system and are still committed to being at the forefront of computerised and digital legal services. “We constantly seek more efficient work practices, utilising the latest technology involving case management, time recording and cloud computing. Innovation leads to better value for money for the client, faster output times and ultimately, better service” added Michael.
The Law Awards will be held in Dublin on May 2nd. M.G. Ryan & Co. are proud to represent the West of Ireland.
